So here I am, twenty months later and 100 posts on the books. Thank you for all your support, with subscriptions, follows, re-stacks, and likes.
I have some very interesting takes on crime fiction and movies coming up; I am really looking forward to digging into them. I think you will really enjoy them.
Meanwhile, time for a little business.
My latest crime novel - Van Hoke's Caper - takes place in Door County, Wisconsin during Prohibition. Door County, in a 1929 report by the U.S. Treasury Department, was labeled "Very Wet," or in flagrant contravention of the anti-liquor laws. As a tourist destination, the locals had plenty of motivation to look the other way.
Poor Thumper Van Hoke. He's been behind the eight-ball all his life; every caper he designs blows up in his face. Now, in the depths of Prohibition, along with his partner Granville "Duke" Dukenfield, Thumper has placed all his bets on rum-running, moonshine, and wildcat beer. All he has to do to succeed is outwit the local Sheriff, the Feds, and the Chicago Mob.
Van Hoke's Caper is a throwback tall tale awash in crime, booze, and humor - a lusty tribute to Wisconsin's love affair with intoxicating spirits.
If you are a fan of The Trailer Park Boys, this might be right up your alley.
